Personal Best

You spend countless hours preparing, dedicating everything to your best performance. This bike will support you along the entire journey. For the P5X we put all preconceived ideas aside and started the R&D process with one goal: let the needs of the triathlete dictate. The result is the fastest and most user-friendly triathlon bike on the market.
Ideal For: Non-Drafting Triathlons / Olympic / Half and Full Distance Triathlons
Aerodynamics

The Fastest

The P5X is faster and more aerodynamic than any other triathlon bike we have tested. And it is not just fast in the lab - the P5X is the most aerodynamic bike when you ride it fully loaded with the hydration and nutrition requirements of a long distance race.

Usability

Optimized for You

The P5X is designed to be user-friendly along your entire journey. Precise adjustments to fit and handlebar position are easy to make using an Allen key. Flexible integrated and modular storage lets you set up your storage just how you like it, and a custom bike bag makes packing and travel easy.

Ride Quality

Balanced Performance

Our engineers applied advanced design and construction techniques to create a frame that is stiff where it's needed for pedaling efficiency, while compliant for a smooth ride. The result: you feel strong and comfortable during the bike leg and primed for a good run.

Modular Storage

Modular Storage incorporates custom Cervélo parts and approved aftermarket accessories to allow full customization of your storage needs. On the P5X you can carry three round water bottles in adjustable bottles cages between the bar arms, behind the saddle, and on the down tube. On the top tube there is a removable storage box and a bento box, and there's a removable storage box for the down tube as well.

Split Base Bar

Our Split Base Bar (patent applied for) allows for easy packing and transport of our triathlon bikes, without complicated cable removal. This feature lets you pack your bike into a much smaller space - whether a travel case or your vehicle - than other triathlon bikes.

TrueAero™

TrueAero™ combines specific tube shapes, sizes, and design features to improve aerodynamic flow across the bike. The application of TrueAero™ is tailored specifically for each of our bikes and their intended uses.

Ride harder, longer

When you're spending hours in the saddle, comfort is essential. The right amount of vertical compliance in a frame makes for a smoother ride, helping to reduce rider fatigue. The P5X's radical frame design (with no seat tube or seat stays) and special lay ups provide a huge improvement in rider comfort.

  • 10x more vertical compliance than the P5

Engineering / of

Less Drag, More Speed

Aerodynamics are critical to engineering a fast bike: aero drag accounts for as much as 90% of the overall resistance affecting a rider. The P5X is designed to be an aerodynamic system incorporating the rider, bike, and storage, so you can reap the benefits of reduced drag even when the bike is fully loaded.

  • 31 grams faster (which translates to 4 watts) than the P5 when set up for an Ironman
Engineering / of

No Wasted Effort

A combination of material, shape, and lay up are used to engineer the desired stiffness of different parts of the frame. For the P5X we optimized the stiffness of the head tube, for stable and responsive handling, and the stiffness of the bottom bracket, so that more of your power goes into turning the rear wheel.

  • 25% stiffer at the head tube than the P5

Susie Cheetham - Pro Triathlete

"For me it’s not just about getting an aero position but it’s being able to hold a position for 112 miles and get off the bike in the best possible condition to run a fast marathon. Being able to adapt the P5X so easily has been key to this process. That’s something that not many bikes can give you."
"It’s the bike Cervélo had to make"

Triathlon World

"It’s the bike Cervélo had to make"

"The bottom line about the P5X is it’s a rocket. It’s the fastest bike I have ever been on when it comes to descending or riding on the flats."
