L'S5 è ormai un punto di riferimento indiscusso quando a livello sportivo agonistico si parla di velocità e di efficienza aerodinamica. Ed a testimoniarlo ci sono i numerosi risultati conquistati sui palcoscenici internazionali più blasonati. Da Wout van Aert che ha conquistato la Maglia Verde con il più grande numero di vittorie della storia moderna a Simon Yates che si è recentemente aggiudicato la maglia rosa, l'iconico manubrio a V ed il design caratteristico della forcella della S5 sono ormai diventati un segno distintivo tra i professionisti di tutto il mondo. La nuova S5 parte da questa eredità fatta di velocità e design per evolversi in qualcosa di ancora più veloce, ancora più ricercato e caratteristico, limando il peso per diventare un alleato ancora più potente tra le mani degli atleti più veloci al mondo.

La nuova S5 è più veloce di 6,3 Watt rispetto all'attuale versione (dato ottenuto in galleria del vento testando alla velocità di 30mph). Questi guadagni sono stati possibili grazie ad importanti migliorie apportate principalmente nella parte anteriore della bicicletta, ma anche grazie all'incredibile lavoro di integrazione dei profili asimmetrici del tubo sella e della ruota posteriore. Cervélo è da tempo leader di settore quando si parla di aerodinamica e, test alla mano, la nuova S5 è più veloce di almeno 5 Watt rispetto alle bici dei nostri più diretti concorrenti.

Three quarter view drawer
The new Reserve 57|64 wheelset was co-developed by Reserve and Cervélo, and designed for use in the new S5. The rear wheel’s asymmetry matches the seat tube, ensuring air flows smoothly over both. The new wheelset is 3 Watts faster than the 52|63 wheels, and weighs the same.
Despite an increase in surface area, the new S5 is 124 grams lighter than its predecessor. While the increase in fork and head tube depth added weight, we optimized the layup and hardware to make the system lighter. Better on the flats and on the climbs alike.
HB19 uses our “Plus-Four” concept, meaning the dimension at the hoods is 4cm narrower than in the drops (e.g. 38cm/42cm). This approach helps riders maintain a more aero body position while their hands are on the hoods, and provides stability in the drops for descending and sprinting. All bar sizes are UCI-legal.
