La R5 è una bici leggendaria. Dalla mitica R5CA, capace di infrangere ogni limite, fino alla storica vittoria di Wout van Aert sul Mont Ventoux, questa bici è parte integrante della storia di Cervélo da oltre vent’anni. La nuova R5 è una bici da strada incredibilmente leggera — al di sotto dei 6 kg negli allestimenti RED e Dura-Ace — ma al tempo stesso abbastanza rigida da competere ai massimi livelli del ciclismo professionistico moderno come ha dimostrato Pauline Ferrand-Prevot quando l'ha guidata alla vittoria al Tour de France Femmes di quest'estate.
Fit Geometry
Il termini di guidabilità e maneggevolezza la geometria di guida della nuova R5 rimane praticamente invariata, salvo una leggera modifica al BB drop che ci ha permesso di poter alloggiare anche pneumatici da 29 mm. Abbiamo però rivisto il fit rendendolo simile a quello che si ha sulla S5. Questo significa che se tu ti trovi a dover passare passare da un modello all’altro, come fa il Team Visma | Lease a Bike, ti troverai sempre nella stessa posizione, ritroverai sempre il tuo fit ed il medesimo feeling di guida. Se invece la R5 è la tua unica bici potrai contare su di una posizione performante e moderna.

Three quarter view drawer
Designed specifically for R5, the all-new Reserve 34 | 37 SL wheelset helped us drop an additional 60 grams. The new wheels deliver the same strength and stiffness as the old ones, but we refined the layup to save weight without hampering performance.
The new R5 in a size 56 builds up to just 5.97kg, a full 900 grams under the UCI’s minimum weight limit. The frame is just 651 grams (size 56), and the fork is 298 grams. In addition to the 100g frame/fork savings, we’ve also saved 326g from all Cervélo components.
The all-new HB18 bar/stem not only dropped nearly 150 grams from the weight of the bike, but it also helps the bike be two Watts more aerodynamic than the previous R5. We applied learnings from the S5 handlebar to develop a comfortable, fast, and stiff handlebar. All bar sizes are UCI-legal.
