FVL Rolling at the right time
Describing the 4:15:24 result as “a good sign for Hawaii” after three weeks of training at the National Altitude Training Camp Centre in Font Romeu, France, the Cervélo athlete showed his fine form and mental toughness by running from fifth to second place in the final 5 kilometres. Freddie’s 1:15:16 half-marathon, the fastest of the day, was preceded by a Top 3 swim and 2:26:25 ride on a notably aggressive bike course.
With the Ironman World Championship less than four weeks away, “it’s always best to gauge your fitness in races rather than in training," the Belgian P5 and P5X rider added.
