P5X propels Wild to second-straight win
Ruedi Wild won his second-straight race on Saturday by claiming Ironman 70.3 Taiwan.
Ruedi is off to a very impressive start in 2017. After finishing third at Ironman 70.3 Dubai, second at TRI Yas in Abu Dhabi and winning Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay last weekend, the Swiss athlete clocked the fastest bike and run splits (2:00:06 and 1:14:32), as well as the second-best swim (22:55), in Taitung, Taiwan. American Timothy O’Donnell kept it close for much of the race, but the Swiss Cervelo athlete showed his half-marathon class by pulling ahead for good and finishing in a time of 3:42:55, 2:36 faster than O’Donnell.
“I Could not be happier with my back-to-back wins,” Ruedi said. The P5X rider also stated “The bike performance opens new opportunities and set me in the lead position.” Ruedi is now returning home for an eight-week break before his next race, “with hopefully more to come.” So far, so good!
