Cervélo gets faster, stronger at Kona Bike Count

A few hours ago, Lava Magazine revealed that Cervélo has won the Kona Bike Count for a record-setting 12th consecutive year.

The 577 Cervélo bikes on the pier were 55 more than last year, with the gap between Cervelo and the runner-up -- Trek, with 261 -- widening significantly. Indeed, Cervelo’s total nearly matched that of the next three brands combined. Wow!

Here’s what Lava has to say about the results:

“There’s been one king of the pier for the last decade: Cervelo. While big brands like Specialized and Trek ebb and flow, Cervelo moves like Apple with its iPhone, initiating a design update or new model every couple years. “Consumers ate it up. They eat anything Cervelo up, in fact. Why? They have always lived by the phrase “In God We Trust; All Others Bring Data.” They were one of the first brands to present white paper data to the consumer. And the consumer appreciates that level of transparency, proof they’ve put in the work in the tunnel. “The count shows the public faith in the brand; year over year, they either grow or maintain. We think that trend will continue. Especially given what they have up their sleeve, debuting race week in Kona…”

High praise indeed! And here’s more good news: That ultimate triathlon bike we have up our sleeve -- the P5x -- will be ridden by eight pros in the Ironman World Championship later today.

It’s unheard of for so many pros to switch bikes just a few days prior to the most important race of their lives,” says Cervelo’s Global Marketing Antoine Ballon. “That speaks volumes for the quality and performance of the bike. If you’re looking for your Personal.Best, here it is!”
