June 17, 2010 - Filed under: Testteam
The women of Cervélo TestTeam, lead by Kirsten Wild (NED) dominated the first stage time trial today at the Rabo Star Zeeland. The 7km stage around Vlissingen saw all six of the TestTeam riders finish in the top 11, five in the top ten.
"Today, we won the the first stage time trial of the Rabo Star," said Egon van Kessel, Sports Director. "Kirsten Wild (NED) was first, second was Regina Bruins (NED) and third, you won't believe it, but it's true was Iris Slappendel(NED). Kirsten beat Marianne Vos (NED-Nederland Bloeit) by 21 seconds, a big gap in a 7km time trial and, there were other big gaps. Kirsten was also ahead of Regina by 11 seconds. This means we are in a very good position for the next 2 stages and, we will be going for the overall victory as we have a very strong team here."
