Thor Hushovd to ride the FM70 at the Norwegian National Championships

June 24, 2011 - Filed under: Company
This weekend, National Championship races will be held for most European countries.  In fact, Garmin-Cervélo's Noemi Cantele won the Italian title on Thursday. Congratulations Noemi!

On Sunday, fans with keen eyes may notice that World Champion Thor Hushovd is riding our FM 70 road bike when he races in the Norwegian nationals.  We're excited to see Thor use the FM 70 in action this weekend.

Personally, I think its a good contender. I rode on one of its kind here as my dealer who personally imported to demo in his Store. Equipped with Sram Red and Mavics Cosmic Carbone clinchers as pictured on the its ad. It rode Great very sturdy and really feels athletic. It lacked responsiveness as my Cervelo R5CA but this was all in all a different class, mine had Di2 and Mavic Ultimates. But I liked the Aero preserved from the S3 and that chain-stay derived from sort of like the P4, looks wickedly strong. Of coarse the P4 also had its merits on the Wind Tunnel in SD. I heard on the results this produced it had more watts than the S2. Word out the P4 is being re-configured again. I didn't see it on the 2011 catalog.

Tony has a point...those seat stays may cause the bike not to be as compliant as the current S3. Time will tell. Cant wait!!!

It disappointingly ugly. It's more of a time trial bike than an aero road bike. It's almost the P4 not an all-round road bike. Why?

can't wait to get more info on this bike! I check bikeradar every day!

Looks super aero....but what I'm worried about is

-compliance (no curved top tube and/or skinny seat stays)--in terms of real world performance I fell compliance is a huge factor.

-weight (obvious)

Hopefully Cervelo has some neat tricks up their sleeve to solve these factors!

The S5 looks great and WILL look much better once the decals are installed. I hope with the contoured seat tube and BBright, the weight is not too bad. I LOVED the weight of my SLC-SL. Also, will this bike have the higher bottom bracket height like my SLC-SL did? Cervelo, can you post more info about this bike ASAP...The Tour starts very soon :-)

Personally, not that visually appealing. But right now its only in gloss black and some predicted 56cm. Hopefully with matte black paint scheme and smaller size the bike will look far better! Time will tell.

the bike looks great on the photos on procycling.no ... loking forward to Cervelo's 'official' launch with: specifications, improvements & benefits, price, availability, photos, videos, etc.

Watching the championship now. Exotic looking bike, all black and with seat tube curved towards the back wheel. Hot stuff!

Found in the net ..

"As early as 2001, long before Cervelo’s affiliation with Team CSC, they initiated a project called FM28, which ultimately became the Cervelo Soloist Carbon. Yet this model probably shows better than any other the fruits of their labor Team CSC."

So I think it is is a new rocket oRo

Great teaser ! fans may follow Thor with 'keen eyes' ... however that will not be enough for the fans ... we want more technical details on the FM70. S-Series with BBright? stiffer & lighter? how much? when will it be available?

Wait, is the FM70 the new bike that everyone is excited for? Is it a new series or will it be part of the S or R series?
