Rasch moves into GC top 15 at Tour of Poland

August 04, 2010 - Filed under: TestTeam
Mirco Lorenzetto (ITA- Lampre-Farnese Vini) won today's fourth 177.9 kilometers stage from Tychy to Cieszyn at the Tour of Poland. Teammate Grega Bole (SLO- Lampre-Farnese Vini) finished second with
Alessandro Ballan (ITA- BMC Racing Team) in third. With today's win Lorenzetto now wears the yellow jersey and while Cervélo TestTeam's Gabriel Rasch (NOR) has moved up the GC into eleventh position.

"Our focus today was to defend the mountain jersey for Dominique Rollin (CAN)," said Jens Zemke. "Our plan was to be in the break away after the first 50 km of the race, with 30 km to go to the first mountain. The team achieved this and Dominique ended up in a three-rider break. There he was able to take the first points but couldn't stay in the group and eventually was dropped. At that point the race became considerably harder and we tried to stay in the front. A big group was dropped and except for João Correia (POR) all our guys where still there. When we came into the final loop, which was really dangerous, unfortunately we had a big crash and our GC rider Xavier Tondo (SPA) was involved. He finished the race and we will see how he is for tomorrow. We also had Gabriel Rasch still in the front, and he didn't lose any time today. So Gabba is still our best rider in the GC and we will see what he can do in the coming days."
