What a difference a year makes. This time last year I was a favourite for the Classics. At the start of Flanders the race announcers called my name as I made my way to the sign in. People cheered my name as if I was a gladiator heading into battle, I had great legs. I felt amazing and I finished second. Second! This year I won't even have the chance to finish Flanders.
I'm on my own, in my room at the Cervelo hotel and in a few short minutes I have to give one of the hardest press conferences I've ever going to make. I'm about to announce that I'm pulling out of Flanders and Roubaix, the two biggest races on my calendar, the races I dream about winning. My Classics season is over. The races I wanted to win gone without even a pedal stroke and without even reaching the start line.

Heinrich,
I am only fifteen years old but I am setting high goals to become a member of the Cervelo Team and professional cyclist. You, Carlos, and Thor are all inspirations to me. I've always had these question for a professional cyclist. What is it like to to be on a team and race with your teammates? What is the training schedule and routine like? I will be watching the team this 2010 season and wishing you guys the best!

Forget asap all the pain you have. As you said : you will be back stronger than ever.
This bad luck can not continue. I know you will be top at the world championship in your "home-country". There everything is possible because you have more reserves than the others. Believe in it !
and...in 2011...Flanders is waiting for you...Good luck...

I have been looking around www.cervelo.com and actually am impressed by the exceptional content here. I work the nightshift at my job and it really gets boring. I've been coming right here for the past couple nights and reading. I simply wanted to let you know that I've been enjoying what I've seen and I look ahead to reading more.

Hey Heinrich, Chin-up mate! Pretty bloody tough call but it can only move-up from here.!! Dont beat yourself up over it, s**t happens sometimes ( been there myself) and it can only spur you on to bigger/better racing for 2010.As my old dad use to say...( on the inhale)"in-with-the-blue (happiness) and out-with-the-red (anger, on the big exhale). You'll be right!

Totally disappointed, (surely not as much as you). Wish you the speediest recovery and I'm sure we will watch you do very good things this year. Take care.

I am totally bummed that my favorite rider is missing his favorite races. Hope to see you race in America still this year (ToMissouri?) Hope you can take care of yourself, follow Dr's orders and FOCUS on sacrificing everything for your next goals!
