It was a short stage and not too windy like the first stage. A lot of teams who missed the break yesterday gave a fast start.
Almost from the gun five riders got away, and as all of them were pretty far down on GC they gained time quickly. Once the gap was at five minutes we started to ride as we had no interest in letting them too far out of control. We got help in several occaiones but in general our guys had things under control.
As we approached the finish several teams were up there driving the sprint. Our guys did all they could to deliver Heinrich as good as possible, and he hit the right move at the right time and got around the last rider in the last 20 meters. He read the sprint perfectly.
That brought him up to second place, just one second down and he got the sprint jersey. As well we are second on the team GC.
