Meanwhile in France, the third stage of Paris-Nice was cut short today because of snow, beginning at Saint St. Yreix, instead of Saint Junien. The peloton ended up riding the final 155 kilometres of the original 208 km course. This cut out the first two planned ranked climbs of the day, and the organizers also cancelled the first intermediate sprint, which would have come 11 kilometres into the revised stage. read more

Haussler getting stronger, Tondo holds GC top 10

Another two hundred kilometres race today, this one from Contres to Limoges for the second stage of the 2010 edition of Paris-Nice. William Bonnet (FRA- Bbox Bouygues Telecom) bettered Liquigas' Peter Sagan (SVK) in a drag race to the line, while Luis Leon Sanchez (ESP- Caisse d'Epargne) with a third place stage result also moved up one position into third in the GC as well. Lars Boom (NED - Rabobank) retains his overall race lead. Best result for Cervélo TestTeam was Heinrich Haussler (GER) in fifteenth position. read more

Jo Lawn sets course record at Bonita Ironman

Jo Lawn (NZ) reclaimed the women's title this weekend at the Bonita Ironman in New Zealand. She defeated rival Gina Crawford to reclaim the women's title that she lost to the Christchurch triathlete last year in Taupo and in the process set a new course record despite the windy conditions. read more

Xavier Tondo in top ten GC at Paris-Nice

New Zealander Greg Henderson (Sky) took the first stage today at Paris-Nice. The 203.5 kilometres from Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines - Contres saw a chaotic stage with a series of crashes, strong cross winds and fierce attacks. Henderson won in a sprint finish beating Grega Bole (SLO -Lampre) with Jeremy Galland (FRA-Saur-Sojasun) placing third. These three were at the head of a group of 15 riders that finished 17 seconds ahead of the rest of the peloton. Included in the group was overnight race leader Lars Boom (NED-Rabobank) who retained his first place GC standing. read more

Xavier Tondo surprises with 6th place in Paris-Nice prologue

Xavier Tondo (ESP) was the big surprise today in the Paris-Nice Prologue placing sixth in the individual time trial. Lars Boom (NED-Rabobank) won the 8 kilometres prologue with veteran Jens Voigt (GER - Team Saxo Bank) placing second and Levi Leipheimer (US-Team Radio Shack) in third. read more

Theo Bos wins last stage of Tour of Murcia

Theo Bos (NED) won his second race of the season today in the final 121 kilometre stage to Murcia. The Cervélo TestTeam rider was faster than Graeme Brown (AUS - Rabobank) and Daniel Schorn (AUT-Team NetApp) in the sprint. Frantisek Rabon (CZE - HTC-Columbia) finished safely in the peloton on this final flat stage to win the Tour of Murcia.    read more

Stefan Denifl in GC top 25 at Murica

A 22 kilometre long individual time trial with very little elevation change was the focus of today's fourth stage at the Tour of Murcia. Frantisek Rabon (CZE-HTC-Columbia) won it in a time of 25:10, also managing to take over the GC race lead. Denis Menchov (RUS-Rabobank) came in 33 seconds slower while Bradley Wiggins (GBR - Team Sky) was third at 48 seconds. Stefan Denifl (AUT) in 35th position had the best result for Cervélo TestTeam. read more
