2005: Jens Voigt in his winning ways on the S1 (formerly known as the Soloist Team) [Cervélo was a proud partner of Team CSC from 2003 through 2008. For 2009 Cervélo has founded the TestTeam]

“It explodes off your pedal strokes with that instantaneous acceleration, but it also keeps on rocketing ahead after your booster phase, as if a free tailwind was thrown in with your purchase.” - Bicycling Magazine
Most underrated bike in the world according to magazines and pro riders, the S1 (formerly the Soloist Team) is quite simply the best value in road bikes. A 100% pro bike, with victories in Paris-Nice, Critérium International, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Tour de l’Avénir and many other races.
Nowadays people are sometimes so blinded by “carbon” that they prefer a mediocre carbon frame over the best aluminum frame that is lighter, stronger, stiffer, more responsive and even more comfortable. Therefore, try before you buy, as we are confident you will join the ranks of S1 owners.

| Highlights |
| |
|
A full-aero frame in road geometry - combining the best of our road bike features with the aerodynamic knowledge we have acquired over the past decade.
Versatile and affordable - This bike can climb, descend, sprint, and of course is ideal for break-aways. On top of that it morphs into a part-time TT/Tri bike and it is the most affordable way to ride what the pros ride.
Aerodynamics without compromising its other features - Combines aerodynamics with light weight, great power transmission, and an excellent ride
ICS (Internal CableStops) - Cervélo’s standard setting cable routing system. Easy to install, easy to service, easy to keep clean and improved aerodynamics.
Adjustable geometry – Road or TT/triathlon, the S1 can do both thanks to its 2-position seatpost offering the standard 73 degree or the optional 76 degree seattube angle.
Winning pedigree - Ridden to victory in Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Paris-Nice, Tour de l'Avénir, Critérium International and many other races.

| TrueAero™ |

|
| Airplanes require different airfoils than bicycles. Sounds logical, but many companies are so proud to say their airfoils come from the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics (NACA). So did we, 13 years ago. But now, we design our own specific airfoils, and it has led to significant improvements. It’s one of the reasons why we spend weeks and weeks in the windtunnel each year, not hours (if any) as is customary in the industry. When you have the most and the best engineers working on aerodynamic improvements and you give them more time to play in the windtunnel sand box than anybody else, you end up with faster bikes. Simple.

| Smartwall 2™ |
  Smartwall cross section
|
| |
|
| Smartwall puts the material where it matters, far away from the center plane. This increases bottom bracket stiffness (more efficient power transfer) and torsional stiffness (better handling) while at the same time reducing in-plane harshness. It’s why S1 test rides convince so many people to get this Aluminum bike instead of a carbon bike.

No custom Cervélo is needed even for the most demanding pros, that’s our conclusion after supporting hundreds of the world’s best athletes. The reason we don’t need customs where other bike companies do lies in our unique reach-based geometry. For an exhaustive explanation on why 6 Cervélo sizes fit more people than 12 “normal” sizes, check out our geometry tech presentation.
